I broke out the turntables today and decided that I would do a little DJing. It took me a while to get my decks setup. I use Serato scratch and I had to go find the software to download as I haven’t spun in a couple of years. The hardware I have is probably about 4 years old so I had to get the level 1 software.
Once I got it downloaded and installed I finally got a fire at the turntables. The needles were really dirty and needed cleaning after a couple years of gathering dust they sounded pretty scratchy at first but after I blew them off and got all the dirt of it sounded a whole lot better. It didn’t take me very long to get going and starting to beatmatch again and mixing songs.
Honestly lately I’ve been missing DJing. So I decided to bust out my Technics and get back into it. That’s the whole reason I decided to get my turntables out again and practice. I’m thinking about do you live mixing and also some recording mixing and clean up some videotapes on Youtube in my website. I think that I will probably do mixes from all types of genres from hard rock and heavy metal to dance music even hip hop and eighty’s styles too!
Whenever I do decide to go ahead and do it live or recorded mix I will make sure to post something here and send an email out everybody on my mailing list. If you’re not on my mailing list go to my contact page and sign up there to get on the mailing list.
I look forward to detain on camera soon until then keep em up! \m/
